Tonight, Manny Pacquaio beat Shane Mosley via unanimous decision. Mosley went down in the 3rd round but Manny could not finish him. Manny also went down in the 10th. The referee ruled it a knockdown but it was clearly a slip.

Shane “Sugar” Mosley looks like another washed out fighter after facing Pacquaio.  He tends to do that to all he has faced lately. Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Clottley, Cotto, Margarito and now we can add Mosley to that list. Are they really that bad or in their decline or is Manny that good that they all look outclassed when they faced Pacquaio? I personally think it’s the latter.  Well, who else left for Manny then? We all know Mayweather is ducking him. So, he probably should just retire at this point.

This evening Nonito Donaire (26-1) met Fernando Montiel (44-3-2) in a Championship Bantamweight showdown. Well, what everyone anticipated as a battle, ended up a short one.  Nonito Donaire dominated and dismantled the WBC and WBO champion and claimed the titles by way of KO in the second round. Montiel was shaken by a hard left hook that he eventually could not recover fully.  Montiel courageously stood up before the count but ended up absorbing more punishment before the referee stopped the fight.

This win will surely catapult Donaire in the limelight as the other Filipino sensation (Pacquaio being the other) and is now a force to be reckon with as he continues to impress. Congratulations to Donaire!

Following in the footsteps of current #1 rank pound for pound boxer in the word, Filipino sensation Donaire continue to impress. This weekend, Donaire successfully debuted into the Bantamweight division by knocking out former Title Holder and top 10 Bantamweight Wladimir Sidorenko in the 4th round of a scheduled 12 round bout. With this win, Donaire up his record to 25-1 with 17 KO.

Numerous comparisons are now being drawn to Manny Pacquiao. Like Manny, Donnaire debuted as a Flyweight and continues to move successfully up the weight class.

The #6 ranked pound per pound boxer now has his radar set on current Bantamweight Champion Fernando Montiel.  Watch out Montiel, you will be a statistic once this rising star blazed a path through you!
